Egg Candling is a dying art
To earn extra money during the long hot Kansas summers I always got a job candling eggs.  It was tedious but it was a relief after working outside in the fields all day.

Why cross? What came first?
Such big questions you carry
Oh, little chicken.

Road Trip

Even with the high price of gasoline, I cannot resist the call of the open road - even if the trip is under a hundred miles.  I don't care if I am riding in a Greyhound bus, driving on an open road, a rural lane, or a country avenue.  I don't need to know where I am going or why.   This is what I mean:“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson
